Useful Information
Pensions Dashboards
What are Pensions Dashboards?
Pensions Dashboards are online services that will allow individuals to see information about their pensions in one place. Once fully available, dashboards will enable people to find and view details of their pension savings, including workplace pensions, personal pensions and State Pension entitlements.
The aim is to make it easier for people to understand their retirement savings and keep track of pensions built up with different employers throughout their working life.
Why are Pensions Dashboards being introduced?
Many people have several pension arrangements, particularly if they have changed jobs during their career. Pensions Dashboards are being introduced to help people:
- Locate pension benefits they may have forgotten about.
- See information about different pensions in one place.
- Gain a better understanding of their overall retirement savings.
- Make more informed decisions about retirement planning.
What information will be available?
When Pensions Dashboards become available, members will generally be able to see:
- Information about their pension schemes.
- Details of pension benefits they have built up.
- Information about the administrators of their pension arrangements.
- State Pension information alongside private pension benefits.
The information displayed will vary depending on the type of pension arrangement and the information held by individual pension providers.
Are Pensions Dashboards available now?
Pension schemes and providers are currently connecting to the pensions dashboards ecosystem in line with government guidance. Although many schemes have already connected, the dashboards are not yet available for general public use.
The Pensions Dashboards Programme has indicated that public access is expected to begin during the 2027/28 financial year, although a launch date has not yet been confirmed.
What does this mean for members of the Clifford Chance Pension Scheme?
The Trustee supports industry efforts to improve pension engagement and help members access information about their retirement benefits more easily.
Members do not need to take any action at present. As the pensions dashboards programme develops, pension schemes and providers will continue to prepare their data and systems to support dashboard services.
Beware of scams
Fraudsters sometimes take advantage of publicity surrounding pensions developments. Be cautious of any unsolicited calls, emails, text messages or social media messages claiming to offer access to a pensions dashboard or assistance with pension transfers.
Before sharing personal information, always ensure you are dealing with a trusted organisation.
